Abstract:
This work concerns the linguistic analysis of the politico-electoral speeches of the French presidential elections of 2012. Our research falls under the field of pragmatic integrated and in particular the linguistic argumentation. We tried in this work to show the contribution of the theory of the topoi worked out by Ducrot as well as the construction of the ethos and its dimension in the argumentative strategy of the politician. To do this, we focused on the role of the ""but"" concourse connector in articulating political discourse. We also relied on Patrick Charaudeau's work on the notion of discourse through the dialectic of enunciation.
