Abstract:
"This research studies the critical theory of (IBN RACHIK KAIRAOUNI) and (HAZEM of
CARTAGENA) through their two books (EL OMDA) and (MEKHADJ EL BOLAGHAE), they study
the structure of the text, the position of these opinions about the modern theory of the text in order to
know at which point the concept of the ancient text is conform to the modern concept, the methods of
coherence for the two critics and the modern textuality in the critical theory for IBN RACHIK and
HAZEM of CARTAGENA.
In the light of the text’s theory, the reading of the two books ""EL OMDA"" and ""Minhaj AL
BOLAGHA"" has imposed the division of the research into an introduction, five chapters and a
conclusion. The introduction deals with the nature of the literary life in the Old Maghreb until the 7th
century of Hijra.
The first chapter is devoted to talk about the text and its problems, while the second chapter discusses the
textology and its fields. Whereas, the three applied chapters study respectively the critical theory of the
authors of the two books « EL OMDA » and « EL MENHADJ » by treating: the text’s nature and its
function in the third chapter, while the forth chapter discusses the exterior structure of the text, the fifth
chapter is devoted to talk about the textual coherence.
This study has led to know the predominance of partial theory on the ancient Maghreb critical
vision when it has considered the verse as an essential unit on which the poetic text is based, while the
modern criticism appreciated the text as a unit of words with a limited length.
Both of « IBN RACHIK » and « HAZEM » have linked poetry with its function, they requested
from the poet the diversification between aims of the text, using them to serve the contest, and support
for the poetic purpose of the author. As well as, HAZEM of CARTAGENA proceeded to explain the
structural levels of the poetic text contrary to its position, while IBN RACHIK has only studied the
structure of rhyme, they do not forget to take into account the methods of coherence text.
If the essential element of the text for IBN RACHIK is the verse, it is based on a series of chapters
for Hazem of Cartagena, each chapter includes the features of the modern text, and he focused on
systemic and organizational methods, the linking methods between chapters."
