Abstract:
This study deals with the structure of a brilliant narrative text which is “The Trilogy of Algeria” written by Abd elmalek Mourtad, who engraved his name with gold letters in the field of narration and criticism. The distinction of this Trilogy in all its novels, “The epic, The cataclysm, and The Salvation” is a result of its combination between both the artistic pleasure and the historical knowledge in order to revive the modern Algerian history and shed light, as well, on the ignored and marginalized events that convict the colonizer and reveal the horrible crime he committed against Algerian innocents.
The narration-constituting structures of “The Trilogy of Algeria” have manifested in how the time has been presented within the novel, how the place has blent reality with wonder, how the characters have been divided into big and small structures, in addition to the language of narration which has gone beyond the common traditional language used among writers as it has been innovation in terms of words, sentences,
and styles. It has been characterized by religious, literary, and
historical intertextuality. Finally, the narrative form is to be
explained by talking about the narrative form and vision within
an empirical framework to support the theoretical aspect.
