Abstract:
The principal aim of the present work consisted to identify the secondary metabolites
(flavonoïds) of Myrtus communis L.belonging of the Myrtaceae family.
The use of the different chromatographic methods (column, paper, thin layer)
permitted the isolation of three flavonoïds, and with using the acid hydrolysis and usual
spectroscopic methods (UV, NMR, Mass), the structures of this compounds were established
ase :
- 3, 5, 7,3’,4’,5’- hexahydroxyflavone (Myricetin).
- 5, 7, 3’, 4’, 5’-pentahydroxyflavone -3- O- α- rhamnoside
(Myrecitin-3- O -α - rhamnoside).
- 5, 7, 3’, 4’, 5’- pentahydroxyflavone -3- O- β- glucoside
(Myricetin- 3- O-β- glucoside).
