Abstract:
This work is a part of structural, magnetic and biological study of new metal ion
complexes with different types of hydrazide ligands and its derivatives according to different
strategies. One of the main objectives of this thesis was to synthesize transition metal
complexes with two hydrazides that have the same backbone with two different substituents
in the aromatic rings. In order to study the effect of the architecture of the two ligands and
more precisely the influence of the two 2ydroxyl and amino groups on the coordination mode,
supramolecular structure and biological properties, several pathways have been explored
which leads to interesting results. These complexes were the subject of a detailed
radiocrystallographic study. The biological study shows that some complexes have
antioxidant properties and others have antibacterial properties. The magnetic study on the Cr
(III) dimer revealed that this complex exhibits antiferromagnetic interaction (J = -6.672 cm-1).
This result is consistent with DFT calculations.
