Abstract:
The present work deals with the phytochemical study; the structural determination and
biological evaluation of some natural compounds isolated from specie of the Apiaceae family:
Bupleurum lancifolium (Hornem). This study led to the isolation and identification of 7
compounds from which 2 compounds are new.
The structures of isolated compounds were established particularly by the use of NMR
high-field 1D and 2D technics (1H, 13C, COSY H-H, HSQC, HMBC), high resolution mass
spectrometry (ESI-MS and HR-ESI-MS), and comparison with literature data :
➢ Un acide phénolique
➢ Deux flavonols glycosilés
➢ Quatre saponosides triterpéniques.
The majority of compounds isolated from the butanolic extract of the species B.
lancifolium showed a great ability to inhibit the formation of AGEs. The flavonoids isolated
from the butanolic extract of stems of B. lancifolium was found to involve a strong inhibition
of the formation of of AGEs, while no activity was observed for the saponosids isolated from
the butanolic extract of leaves+flowers of B. lancifolium.
