Abstract:
The subject of this work concerns the phytochemical study of Cachrys libanotis L. from east Algeria, species of the Apiaceae family.
Isolation and purification of compounds from aerial parts of Cachrys libanotis L. were performed by several chromatographic methods (CCM, CC), the structures were established by spectral methods (NMR, MS).
Eleven secondary metabolites were identified. Ten of the isolated compounds are coumarins, whose two are described for the first time. The last one is a flavonoïd.
The chemical composition of the essential oil of Cachrys libanotis L. was analysed by (GCFID) and (GC-MS). Thirty-one compounds were identified, the main components were:
germacrene-D (8,0%), g-terpinene (6,4%), p-cymene (5,5%), caryophyllene oxide (5,1%) and limonene (5,1%).
