Abstract:
The present work deals with the phytochemical and biological studies as well as the corrosion inhibition activities of different Algerian medicinal plants of three familiesnamely the Plumbaginaceae, Tamaricaceae and Apiaceae.
From these plants were isolated 7 new flavonoids the structures of which were determined byspectroscopic techniques (UV, 1H-RMN, 13C-RMN).
The Biological study involves the antimicrobial activities of butanol extract and two of the isolated flavonoids from Tamarix gallica and the antiradical activity of the extracts as well as four isolated compounds.
The corrosion inhibition effect of Limonium thouinii ethyl acetate extract on C steel in 1 M HCl by has been investigated using weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements.
