Résumé:
The present work is devoted to the study of the effect of some thiophene compounds on the corrosion behaviour of zinc in 1M H3PO4 by weight loss and electrochemical methods. The results showed that the dissolution rate is dependent on the structure and the concentration of the compound. From comparison of the inhibition efficiencies, it was found that 2- acetylthiophene (AcT) and 2-thiophenecarboxaldehyde (TCAl) are the best inhibitors. The inhibition efficiency reaches a maximum value of 97% in the presence of TCAl at 5×10-3M.
Polarisation measurements showed that both AcT and TCAl act as mixed type inhibitors. Thermodynamic parameters indicated that the two compounds act by physisorption on zinc surface according to Langmuir isotherm model.
