Résumé:
The qualitative research of a better life or "quality of life" that G. Rougerie (1977) defined
as "the new fairy of modern mythology» is today the central subject, around which passionate debates take place. Scientists, politicians, scholars or profane, are wondering
how to truly achieve it.
How to improve the quality of life of citizens? What methodological tools could be used to
measure it? In the area of town planning to which we are referring to in particular, this inevitably leads to the use of two key concepts: urban ecology and sustainable development. Algeria has ensured their consecration since its high-profile participation at the Earth Summit in 1992.
Since then, institutional and legal reinforcements have emerged to ensure the pre-eminence of sustainability and quality of life in our cities.
And among the Algerian cities targeted for their implementation, Constantine is at the
forefront, because it is set to become a regional metropolis. In this respect, we have tested the innovative concept of high quality of life by concentrating our efforts on a control district (5th July 1962), focusing on the axes of this research work: energy eco-renovation and Vegetation, themes closely linked to climate change.
The aim of this research would be to have the necessary tools to redesign our cities and
neighbourhoods with a touch of "quality»....
