Résumé:
Nowadays, the civil engineering is little consumer of composite materials, comparatively to other sectors, such as car industry or that of the aerospace. However, there are real prospects in the coming years, about their structural use for strengthening civil and
industrial constructions.
The multiple researches performed on the use of composite materials as a strengthening and rehabilitation method for reinforced concrete (RC) structures, showed that the application of carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) fabrics or strips, is an interesting alternative to conventional repair methods.
Among these new strengthening methods with use of CFRP, there is the NSM (Near Surface Mounted) technic, which consists in the embedment of a CFRP strips or bars inside a groove performed in the strengthened element concrete, in order to optimize the exploitation of CFRP mechanical properties in favour of a more efficient RC structures strengthening.
The development of these technic and its use in structural strengthening requires support through the development of software which help the researchers in their work on such type of strengthened structures.
Thus, after a laborious bibliographic synthesis, we have gathered the research works on the NSM technic in an accessible, dynamic and genuine data base, to promote reconciliation between researchers and research information source.
Therefore, we opted for the development of “GEBD-NSM” software with Borland Delphi platform, which ensures the management of the research data base performed on the subject of strengthening RC beams in bending with NSM-FRP.
