Abstract:
The security of structures made of reinforced concrete towards the phenomena of instability, can to be apprehensive only by calculations taking into account the effect of the second order due to the displacements and the real physical behavior of materials concrete and steel. The treatment of such structures, through the various evolutions of the structural calculation, has proved rather complex and an analytical treatment is practically impossible. Empirical solutions as well as graphic approaches by means of construction and of exploitation of interaction diagrams were proposed. It's the same for numerical resolutions. The research for new and very sensible numerical methods for the calculation of the relation load-displacement is more than necessary. These methods were used for the determination of the failure load of reinforced concrete columns subjected to biaxial bending. Numerical program was elaborated and numerical results have proved to be very close to existing experimental results. Recommendations are presented as well as the prospects for the development of this work.
