Abstract:
Distributed video coding (DVC) is an emerging video coding paradigm due to its flexibility to introduce much lower encoding complexity than conventional predictive codecs, which is beneficial for some applications such as wireless video surveillance, wireless sensor networks. According to research performed in the field, it has been proven that the use of Modes selection combined to entropy coding in DVC systems increases its compression capacity and reduce its complexity. In this dissertation, we will first present a DVC system with modes selection in the encoder and channel coding is replaced by entropy coding.
