Abstract

We have tried in this study to find the ways by which we translate arabicized words in the Holy Koran precisely those which are not strictly explained. We have chosen this kind of the koranic words for these reasons: - The eloquence and the immitability of these words prevent any attempt to replace them with any other Arabic words. So, how can they be replaced with foreign words? 245 - The exegetes failed to explain some arabicized words in the Koran; it means that one word can have many exegeses. Furthermore, we have selected only thirty words from meccan surahs that we have preferred for these reasons: - The conciseness of the meccan expressions and the strength of their words. - The majority of the arabicized words of the meccan surahs appears in the medinan surahs. -The words selected are sufficient for this study. After analyzing the translation of these thirty words by Denise Masson (1967) to French we have noticed that: -The translator used different methods:  The explanatory translation (the translation of the meaning): This method transports carefully the signification of the word, although it destroys its eloquence because it provides an equivalent composed of many words. Redouane Joelle supports this method affirming that "the translator gives the same weight not the same number of words given by the author of the original text". Joseph
