The lameness of cattle are common and represent the 3rd Pattern of consultation after mastitis and infertility.
They are becoming more frequent in the context of current breeding. They are of various etiologies, and their localization on the locomotor apparatus is variable. The survey we carried out in twenty dairy farms in Oum El Bouaghi made it possible to establish the prevalence of the lestions and the diseases encountered thus the main risk factors related to the appearance of these epidemic diseases.
At the individual level, the variability of the lesions may be related to race and / or parity, milk production for certain lesions and diseases (Dermatitis interdigitalis (60%) and Digital dermatitis (55%)), as suggested in the bibliography. At the scale of the herd, other factors (building environment, cleanliness, place available ... feeding ( laminitis (30%) , sanitation). This study proposes useful tools for the practical and differential diagnosis of bovine podal diseases. Close collaboration between veterinarians and other cattle-raising professionals seems essential for the implementation of livestock audits for collective podal diseases.
