New didactic approaches increasingly call for the empowerment and accountability of the learner.
This modernizing reflection on the teaching/ learning act invites the learner to appropriate new
roles and new classroom practices. This research is part of this work. It aimed at studying and
analyzing these practices and their impact on the quality of teaching / learning.
In fact, our research work aims to study the self-assessment operations implemented by 3rd AS
learners during the writing process. Its main objective is to measure their self-assessment
capacities.
To achieve the goals we set for ourselves at the beginning of our research, we conducted a
reflection based on two axes, a theoretical and a second practical.
On the theoretical level, we will try to situate our research in relation to the various theories
developed in this field which can help us in the analysis of our corpus and the explanation of the
results obtained. Thus, we will focus our investigation on the notion of self-assessment, its place
in editorial processes and in the teaching of written production.
On the practical level, our investigation will be oriented towards the reality of the classroom. First,
through the analysis of official documents in which we will search for the position given of the
self-assessment activity. Then, we will try to find out the interest shown by teachers in this activity
through the study of their classroom practices. At the end, we will shade light on the selfassessment operations implemented by the learners during a written production activity.
Thus conducted, our research allows us to explain the mixed results we have achieved, and this by
trying to identify the cause and effect links that connect the instructions of the tutorship, the
classroom practices of teachers and the capacities of learners in the self-assessment area.
In this sense, we conclude our research work with a humble reflection around a model for carrying
out a self-assessment activity. This model is intended to respect the Algerian context and allow the
amelioration of this activity so that it could be at the service of the educational act. |
