dc.description.abstract This work proposes two-dimensional unsteady and laminar modeling of the mass and heat transfer phenomena, which includes all the elements of the exchange membrane fuel cell and uses the coupling between the dynamic model and the electro-chemical model to obtain the curves of polarization that describe the performance of the fuel cell. The direct equations are formulated in a mathematical model based on the finite volume method and a program has been achieved to simulate the equations system. This modelling visualizes the effect of the permeability, the current density, the Schmidt number and the installation of obstacle in the canal flow, on the reactants transport and distribution in a PEMFC. The performance of fuel cell was deduced according to the operational parameters (temperature, pressure, water content, permeability and membrane thickness).
