dc.description.abstract This dissertation entitled "Modeling by MATLAB of single-crystal silicon bifacial solar cells" is aimed to improve the power and the conversion efficiency of solar cells. We elaborated a program, under MATLAB, to model three types of photovoltaic cells: conventional (as reference), conventional with a Back Surface Field (BSF) and bifacial with BSF. Thanks to our program, we succeeded to determine the physical and geometrical parameters corresponding to the best characteristics of the cells. According to our results, we found that the bifacial cell was best compound since it allowed a power increase of 67%.
