dc.description.abstract In this work, the semi-conductor nanoparticles of PbS trapped in Y zeolite were investigated. As a first step, we synthesized NaY faujasite by the sol-gel route. As a second step, the Pb2+ were fixed on the zeolite by ionc exchange. The last step consisted of submitting PbY in the presence of thiol to a calcination at various temperatures (T = 100, 250, 400 and 550 ° C). PbS nanoparticles are thus obtained. Several experimental techniques (SEM, XRD, FTIR) were used to characterize our samples at various stages of development. An elongation of the crystallites was observed by scanning electron microscopy after fixation of Pb2+ ions. FTIR spectra of faujasite NaY have two types of bands characteristic vibrations inter and intra zeolite tetrahedron. After ionc exchange, there is occurrence of a new peak at wave numbers 625 cm-1. This was attributed to the vibrations of Pb-O-Pb groups. The X-ray spectrum of the PbY powder, calcined at 550 ° C, shows that the zeolite was well crystallized. The zeolite in the presence of thiol PbY has undergone a heat treatment, a new form rod-shaped crystallites observed by SEM, the FTIR spectra of the samples show a peak corresponding to the vibration of the groups S-O. XRD spectra indicate the formation of PbS nanoparticles of cubic centered surfaces structure (galena) of a size between 20 and 50 nm.
