dc.description.abstract |
"The discrete lattice structures are of great importance in different fields of applications especially in the mechanical industry, aerospace and civil engineering. Their static and dynamic analysis is also important to ensure a good design and proper operation. However, this analysis is too complex and expensive for the large number of elements of these structures.
To make the process faster and less expensive, several methods have been proposed, the most commonly used consists on the modeling of these discrete structures by continuum models. This method requires the determination of equivalent properties of models considering the analysis of a repetitive element of the discrete structure. The properties of the continuum model will be determined analytically and verified numerically using the finite element method.
The numerical processing of several examples of application is made through the ""ANSYS"" software for different cases of structures (symmetric and asymmetric) and for different boundary conditions." |
