dc.description.abstract This thesis is a part of a project searching to understand the double-skin fagade function by intergrating of an opening used for secondary ventilation. It deals with the natural convection into the vertical double-skin fagades. We modelled our system by a vertical channel asymmetrically heated with uniform heat flux density. The mass conservation equations of momentum and energy are solved using the finite volume method. Numerical simulations are performed using Ansys Fluent CFD software. The results of the flow structure presentation allow to observe the impact of the opening size and position on the recirculation zone and the mass flow rate at the channel entrance. In addition, thermal results presentation shows that the presence of the opening in the bottom of the channel increases the heat transfer more than the other positions do.
