Controllers based on fractional order calculus are gaining more and more interests from the control community. This type of controllers may involve fractional operators and/or fractional systems in their structure or implementation. They have been introduced in the control applications in a continuous effort to enhance the system control quality performances and robustness. In this work, new schemes of fractional order adaptive controller via high-gain output feedback for a class of linear, time-invariant, minimum phase and single input-single output systems of relative degree one have been proposed. Besides, a fractional order model has been introduced in the conventional model reference adaptive control scheme. A classical PID tuning strategy has also been presented based on a fractional order model. The basic ideas of these control designs have been presented. Some analytical stability proofs of the feedback control system have been derived. The control quality enhancement and the robustness of the proposed control schemes compared to the classical ones has been done through simulation results of illustrative examples to validate and evaluate their efficiency. |
