Modélisation numérique du problème de flambement d’un pieu isole dans un sol homogène.

Abstract

Piles have been used effectively in many applications that involve, on the one hand, improving the characteristics of soft soil and increasing its bearing capacity and, on the other hand, reducing settlements, especially in the case of the reinforcement of existing foundations. Pile buckling is currently one of the more complicated geotechnical problems that engineers and researchers have to deal with. This problem has become a very interesting research topic. A Finite Element Method (FEM) to study this phenomenon is very promising because of the many possibilities offered by this method to model the actual pile behavior. The software can be used in this study because of its versatility and flexibility. Abaqus is characterized by its ability to solve problems realistically, particularly the treatment of contact in order of modeling the real behavior of this type of structure. The thesis consists in a numerical modeling of the soil-pile interaction under an axial static load applied at the head of the pile. In addition, a parametric study was carried out. Several parameters have been modified to evaluate their effects on the critical buckling load of the fully embedded pile.
